Originally from the Pays Basque in the southwest of France, I worked in the construction field as a heavy machinery operator for several years.
In 2014, with my wife, we made the decision to discover a part of Africa by taking off towards => Congo Brazzaville in Pointe-Noire. After six exceptional and rewarding years personally but also professionally through an accelerated career development, I decided to leave everything and achieve what seemed impossible to me… become a helicopter pilot.
In 2021, this time with my two more children, I arrived in Quebec to start my CPL(H) license. In May 2022, I get my flight test as well as my PPC (pilot proficiency check) and from mid-June to early September 2022, I could join Percé in Gaspésie to accumulate flight hours. This internship allowed me to obtain more than 100 hours of PIC (on-board captain) but above all allowed me to live an exceptional experience in an ideal setting. We were two pilots on this contract, and we also had two ground assistants to help us supervise our customers according to their choice of tourist flight circuits.
At the end of the contract in September, Stéphane, the chief instructor, offered me to join the Passport Hélico team as a theoretical instructor for the 2022-2023 season with a positive prospect of evolution for the following seasons.
From now, January 2023, I therefore occupy the position of theoretical instructor at Passport Hélico where I wish to evolve as a flight instructor and then start the seasonal contracts on jet engine.
How do I see my future? Chaining contracts all over Quebec for Passport Hélico in parallel with flight instruction for several years, specializing in sling lifting work and continuing to always let myself be guided by my openness and my flexibility.
PS: If you read this testimony and you have questions or doubts about becoming a future pilot, do not hesitate to contact me via Passport Hélico or social networks.
